Vadelmakausi avomaalla on alkanut. Enin osa vadelmistamme on aromikasta ja maukasta Muskoka-lajiketta, Stiora-vadelmaa on meillä muutaman rivin kokeilu. Viime päivien viileä sää on hiukan hidastuttanut vadelmien kypsymistä - kypsiä on, mutta tällä hetkellä rajoitamme itsepoimintaa satotilanteen mukaan. Halutessasi poimia vadelmia on siis hyvä soittaa ja varata poimintapäivä. Varaaminen mahdollistaa pääsyn itsepoimintaan itsepoiminnan aukioloaikoina (ma-pe klo 8-17, la klo 8-12 ja su 9-15). Itsepoiminnan ollessa suljettu itsepoiminta-alueelle ei saa mennä.
Vadelman lisäksi meillä on itsepoiminnassa pensasmustikkaa, saskatoonia, puna- ja valkoherukoita, hernettä ja kesäkukkia. Mansikkaakin on, mutta mansikoita haluavan on syytä pakata marjaretkelle mukaan myös roppakaupalla kärsivällisyyttä ja pitkämielisyyttä. Muiden kasvien itsepoiminta on avoinna silloin, kun vadelman itsepoiminta on avoinna.
Ja vielä pari muistutusta: huomioittehan poimintapelloilla liikkuessa, että viljelykasvien rivien yli tai läpi ei voi kulkea. Rivin läpi tunkeutuminen ja yli pomppiminen rikkoo rivejä peittäviä katteita, vaurioittaa tukijärjestelmiä ja saattaa rikkoa kastelujärjestelmiä. The raspberry season is here. If you want to come to pick-your-own raspberries, we strongly recommend that you call in advance and book the day, when you plan to come. When you have booked the day, you can arrive to the pick-your-own Mon-Fri 8-17, Sat 8-12 and Sun 9-15. If you do not arrive within this time, you are not allowed to enter the fields, even though you had made a reservation. And please do note that it is not allowed to visit the fields, when the pick-your-own is closed.
So, the raspberries are ready, but there are also other crops available for pick-your-own: peas, white and red currants, blueberries, saskatoon and some summer flowers. There are also some strawberries - however, if you want to pick them, remember to pack patience with you when coming to pick the strawberries. The pick-your-own for these other crops is open only, when it is possible to pick raspberries.
We would like to kindly remind that during your visit at the pick-your-own field, you are not allowed to run or jump across the lines where the plans are growing. You are only allowed to follow along the line. Going over or through the plants causes damage to the plants, fruits and growing systems (poles, the covering material of rows and irrigation systems) . Smoking is only allowed at the designated smoking place.
